‘One Civilized Reader is Worth a Thousand Boneheads.’ So true, and I can’t believe the word bonehead was in usage in 1914. I thought it was recent vernacular. Hubby found this wonderful book, essays from the long-defunct magazine, The Smart Set (A Magazine of Cleverness), at a used book shop. It’s charming.
My other favourite story, referenced on the second cover - “Should A Pretty Woman Eat?” An Impudent Little Essay. Things never change.
